The minutes of this meeting have been updated and can be found here.
RESS is making a trip to Medieval Times this year, and you’re invited to come along. Tickets are available at the office, KHE-123, for cheap ($20) starting today. We’re going on March 2, 2012. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7:30.
RESS Prez vote: February 16-17 | RESS VP/BoD vote: March 8-9
RESS Elections are coming up and now’s the time to get involved! This year elections are being run a bit differently, though, so here’s part of what was sent to me to describe it:
This year we are doing things differently. There will be two votes: one period to vote for the president followed by a period for voting for VPs and Directors. This encourages more competition for the presidency and ensures that qualified candidates are not locked out of VP candidacy by running for president. You are encouraged to read the calender enclosed to gain a better understanding of how this will work. We will be accepting VP and Director nominations immediately, but the deadline for those occurs after the presidential results are announced.
The image above links to the timeline, and all forms are or will be available in the documents section of this website. Good luck to those running, and for everyone else, make yourself heard!
Hey Everyone! The Science Centre has an upcoming event for those who admire the work of one of the earliest and most famous engineers and inventors: Leonardo Da Vinci. It’s this February 2nd and will be broadcast live through Facebook (and put up on Youtube afterwards). Click the image to the left for details.
Hey everyone! We at RESS want to know how we’re doing, and what we can do better to help everyone out. We’ve put up a survey here that takes just a few minutes. Please let us know what you think so we can the best possible job.
By popular demand, RESS is doing a second round of engineering leather jacket orders. Orders are being taken on fitting day, January 25th. For more information, see my poorly edited poster to the left!
You guys love writing essays, right? How about as part of a contest for money? Ontario engineering students are invited to enter an essay contest by the Ontario Centre for Engineering and Public Policy. All it takes is registration as an undergrad PEO member (which is free and doable here) and some of your fantastic writing to enter. The prize is a $500 award and registration to the centre’s 2012 Public Policy Conference. More information is available here. Good luck!
Just a reminder for those interested in competing in REC that it’s happening soon, so remember to register!
